Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum

At the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum, “Masterpieces of French Landscape Paintings from The Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, Moscow” will be held from Saturday, April 14, 2018 to Sunday, July 8, 2018.

Located in Russia’s capital Moscow, the Pushkin Museum boasts more than 700,000 collections. From Impressionists to Matisse, Picasso, it is known for having a modern painting of French modern paintings.

This exhibition introduces the flow of French modern landscape painting around the places and times drawn, from the hustle and bustle of the big city Paris to the world of imagination.

During the period from April 13 to May 27, 2018, the Tokyo National Museum Heiseikan will hold a special exhibition ”Echoes of a Masterpiece: The Lineage of Beauty in Japanese Art”.

There are many “masterpieces” that exist in Japanese art history. They are born by being influenced by contemporary and past works or overseas works, and they are affecting another work as well.

In this exhibition, we will display a number of masterpieces, paying attention to the influence relationship between these works and the common social background.

A special exhibition “THE BODYーChallenging the Mysteryー” will be held at the National Science Museum from Tuesday, March 13, 2018 to Sunday, June 17, 2018.

This exhibition is a special exhibition linked with the NHK Special “Human Body – Huge Network of Mystery -“.
